Liverpool newcomers DBA! share brooding new single ‘D.P.D.’, out today now, ahead of the group’s debut EP ‘skip! worried’, set for release April 29th.
Leading figures in Liverpool’s emerging music scene over the last twelve months, DBA! have fast become known for their unique chemistry and strong influences from the likes of Eels, Beck and Elastica. Having already shared two lead tracks (‘sinkorswim’ and ‘Whisky’) from their forthcoming EP, the band have gained significant traction on the BBC 6 Music airwaves, with widespread support from key tastemakers including Huw Stephens, Craig Charles, Abbie McCarthy and Emily Pilbeam.
Combining their vivid, introspective lyricism and anthemic tendencies to perfection, the biting newcomers have already received nods of approval throughout the press landscape from key champions including Dork Magazine, So Young and Rough Trade; whilst on the live front the three-piece will be hitting the live circuit imminently to coincide with their EP’s arrival.
Discussing their track release, frontman Sam Warren stated: “’D.P.D.’ is a track I wrote whilst losing touch with reality…it’s a deep cut from the world slipping through my fingers, a song I’m not sure I understand but can’t help myself loving. I hope people enjoy Josh’s slide guitar on this one as much as I do”.
