Cody Perez shares new single 'Live Again'

CODY PEREZ

ACCLAIMED SOLO ARTIST RELEASES ANTHEMIC NEW SINGLE & VIDEO

CODY PEREZ will set loose his jaw-dropping spanking new single and lyric video, Live Again, which lands on Friday 10th March, and is available via all streaming platforms.

CODY PEREZ is a special talent. Possessing a powerful and dynamic voice, and supreme songwriting guile, Cody is already known to many as the founder and vocalist of popular US shock rockers AMERAKIN OVERDOSE. Coming at you from Portland, Oregon, USA, CODY PEREZ earned his stripes on the live circuit. He has played extensively with AMERAKIN OVERDOSE throughout the states, touring alongside Mushroomhead and Mortiis, as well as playing prominent shows and festivals with the likes of Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Incubus, Disturbed, Black Veil Brides, and many others. To date, AMERAKIN OVERDOSE have also dropped two full-length albums, and a third record is currently in the works. But we are here today to talk about CODY PEREZ’s captivating solo project which was originally born out of the Covid pandemic. Having a glut of downtime, Cody used lockdowns and periods of isolation to craft over forty songs, some of which will go on to make up his much-anticipated forthcoming debut album. The creation of his own solo work was very much a cathartic experience. Perez remarks: “Like many people during Covid, I was going through a lot of personal issues and composing music got me through many of the issues I was dealing with. It was a healthy way to vent”.

To date, two singles have successfully been released, Open Eyes, landed in August 2021, and Cody’s 2nd single, Holding On, came out at the end of 2021. Working alongside producer Nikolas Roy Quemtri at NRQ's Studios, CODY PEREZ has taken from a slew of influences panning from Stone Sour and Corey Taylor through to Papa Roach, Marilyn Manson, and Rob Zombie. The resulting sound is certainly a step away from his previous work. Perez elaborates: “I always wanted to have my own project aside from my band Amerakin Overdose. I wanted to do something a little different than what we do in the band and wanted a more direct sound.” The end result is absolutely breathtaking.

With plans for live dates to support the single and a full-length album in the works for later this year, CODY PEREZ’s time is now.
