Coastal Fire Dept | New Video and Album - OUT NOW
COASTAL FIRE DEPT. RELEASE NEW ALBUM & BRAND NEW VIDEO!
Unrelenting UK post-grunge crew COASTAL FIRE DEPT. have just set loose their greatly anticipated new album, Outsiders, via all major stores. To mark the event, the industrious dirty rockers have also released a potent new video for their recent single, Cry Your Heart Out - https://youtu.be/cH0_ZSeNJOM
Coming at you from Guernsey, and formed in 2013, COASTAL FIRE DEPT. feature guitarist and vocalist Ollie Goddard, bassist Saad Frihmat, Ozzy Austin on drums, and lead guitarist Jon Langlois. With a continually developing sound and strong back catalogue of releases, COASTAL FIRE DEPT. are truly gifted and massively productive. In 2019, the band unleashed their debut mini-album, Control, and in 2020 the grunge rockers racked up high acclaim for their Radio EP. In 2021, the fuzzy rock unit dropped their first full length album, Connected, and their standalone single, You’re Stuck, where the band collaborated with Ken Andrews (Failure, Stone Temple Pilots, Chris Cornell). With a genuine passion to constantly evolve, the latter part of 2021 triggered a move towards a hearty guitar-driven sound. It also saw the band record with Kellii Scott (Failure, QOTSA, Veruca Salt & more) on drums. Their singles, ‘Gun’, ‘Loner’ and ‘What Do I’ were released to widespread approval, achieving worldwide radio play and press coverage, which included significant support from Kerrang! Radio.
In 2022, COASTAL FIRE DEPT. released a spectacular cover of the Pixies classic, Gouge Away, and more recently the singles, Gentlemen, and Stranger Town. All tracks have considerably helped in highlighting the band’s burgeoning reputation. The band have now released their enthralling new album, Outsiders. The guys remark about the record: “Outsiders is sonically a snapshot of where we are now and where we are going. Like most CFD songs, we tend to focus on observations, emotions or stories already told. Some tracks deal with feeling on the outside of society. Which, by the way, isn’t a bad place to be. As Bill Hicks once said ‘I get a kick out of being an outsider constantly. It allows me to be creative.’”
COASTAL FIRE DEPT will continue to tour throughout 2023 and look out for upcoming festival appearances.
