Rising, rousing indie rock” (Clash Magazine)

With previous wins like selling out King Tut’s in 2023, being featured as BBC Scotland’s ‘Track of the Week’ twice and named as ‘Ones to Watch in 2024’ by Jim Gellatly, Cloud House’s momentum shows no sign of slowing down.

Their uplifting new single ‘Steal This Life’ came out on Friday 13th of September, following the success of ‘Broken’ which earned airplay on Radio X and drew comparisons to Glasgow greats like Twin Atlantic and Fatherson from Northern Exposure Magazine.

While ‘Broken’ reflects on the bittersweet end of a friendship, ‘Steal This Life’ explores the feeling of unexpectedly stumbling upon love. It’s about that pivotal moment when we recognise our soulmate and feel driven to do whatever it takes to keep them close.

As the song progresses and the sax solo kicks in to dance over boisterous guitars, ‘Steal This Life’ exudes a lively and fun vibe, perfectly mirroring the joyful energy of finding love.

Lyricist and frontman Conor McCarry explains, “I wanted to try to recreate the moment I knew I’d met the person I wanted to be with. It felt like it was against all odds, that it was ridiculously lucky - almost feeling like I’d stolen it because it was too good to be true.

Cloud House has a reputation for wearing their hearts on their sleeves, writing about the highs and lows of human emotions with unflinching honesty. Whether addressing grief and loss in their 2023 ‘Still Here’ EP, or celebrating love with ‘Steal This Life’, the rising 5-piece band is bound to connect with lovers of upbeat rhythms, catchy hooks and raw lyrics.

Throughout their journey, Cloud House has supported significant acts such as Big Country, The Native, The Luka State and Cassia, and played the inaugural Sound of Iona music festival this summer. They’re now gearing up for a double-header weekend at McChuills in September, followed by their debut London show in October.
