Established on a dilapidated industrial estate at the foot of an overgrown hill in darkest Lancashire, Chorley-based alt-pop quartet HAUSPOINTS are delighted to reveal their forthcoming debut album.

Eel Feeling is set for release on 21st September 2024 via independent label Crackedankles (Thank, MICHAEL, Evil Blizzard), and to celebrate the news the band are sharing the lead single ‘Hear No, See No’, set for release on 12th July 2024.

Exploring a distinctly northern viewpoint on modernity, Hauspoints’ songs are like a love letter to popular culture, finding beauty in the mundane minutiae, and celebrating the quirkiness of human existence. Their debut album Eel Feeling is a beat-heavy rasp that treads an unfurrowed path aside multiple genres without straying too far into the obscure.

“Overall, the album’s loose concept is based on my car radio, which has a Bluetooth/FM transmitter to avoid commercial or mainstream analog radio stations,” says frontman Palmo. “I don’t necessarily feel all that strongly about them, I just spend too much time in my car to not have something worthwhile to wrap my ears around. Because of the poor quality of the transmitter, random interference would regularly interrupt whatever I was listening to, hence the sporadic bursts of noise throughout the album."

“The perspective lyrically has always been written through a Northern lens of bemusement at the absurdity of modern human existence, and not without a sense of wry humour. Not that I’m expecting anyone else to get the joke, I’m just trying to keep myself entertained.”

‘Hear No, See No’ serves as the first single from the record, with Palmo explaining that the track “asks the question whether intellectual property can actually be owned, insofar as can anyone actually own an idea, and how far can you take that argument? There are probably some dry legal definitions for this, but I haven’t read them.”

HAUSPOINTS self-released their 2023 EP Bloody Interference on cassette, and their subsequent 2023 7″ single 'Total Diversion' on Crackedankles sold out in a single day. The band received repeated airtime on BBC 6music and BBC Introducing, and early press tips from Plastic Magazine and The Unsigned Guide, with John from the band JOHN making them his ‘Hot Tip’ on the BBC 6 Music New Music Fix Daily broadcast in July 2023.

Although early days on the live side, they have already shared the billing with notable names From The Jam, The Buzzcocks and Space.
