Chicago’s maewestchi share EP “Lets Not Say We Did”
maewest is a Chicago based melodic post hardcore band. We released our debut ep on Aug 11th which we are incredibly proud of and believe has the potential to bring joy to a large audience in the scene.
“I think ‘Empty’ is the first time I’ve heard indie combined with elements of post-hardcore; it works well. The whole track is a genre-bending experience with pop-punk melodies, uplifting jangle pop guitars with whirling progressiveness. Shifting in tone from bright to harrowing, like suppressed emotions meeting a destructive crescendo. It’s a brilliantly constructed track that evokes a nervous feeling of uncertainty.”
