CAPTAIN HOWDY AND THE SUNSET SERENADERS blast-out a fuzzy modern take on "Shady Grove"

Hailing from Lawrence, KS, CAPTAIN HOWDY AND THE SUNSET SERENADERS are proud to release their punked up/psychobilly take on the American Traditional folk song "Shady Grove" on Friday June 14, 2024.

The band decided to present the track as a modern fuzzed-out version to keep folk and roots traditions alive for the next generation, that might be missing out on these standards from our rich national music heritage.

CAPTAIN HOWDY AND THE SUNSET SERENADERS cover of the American folk standard is driven through a fuzzbox and colored by a swirling kaleidoscopic filter to appease the modern psyche rock palette!

"We were inspired by people like Doc Watson, Billy Strings, Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Tony Rice, and other legends in the acoustic music scene. We've sort of combined all our favorite aspects of their different versions and made it a moshable punk rock n roll tune." - Captain Howdy
