“Good Company” is singer-songwriter Brayden Bell’s note to self, to always remember to take the time to call loved ones, or to send a message to old friends. We’re all constantly filling up the spaces with tasks and to-dos and feeling guilty for when we’re not working on them. Brayden wanted a song that could remind us that it’s okay to take a night off everyone once in a while and stretch out some time with our favorite people.

“When first recording the hook, ‘Thank god for good company,’ it was just me and my guitarist Andrew Jones belting it out,” says Brayden Bell. “To make it feel more inclusive and to hit the point of ‘company,’ I sent a rough recording of the song out to dozens of my friends and had them sing the line back to me on their phones. Then I took these recordings and edited them into the final version of the song. Now there’s a choir of friends singing on it and feels like it now holds up to the meaning of the song.”
There’s nothing wrong with growing up,
sure we have some new labels,
doesn't mean we can’t stretch out a little time
