CAIRO KNIFE FIGHT release new single 'The Violence Of Action (Live), out now on Golden Robot Records

Musical powerhouse Cairo Knife Fight release a live version of their 2011 track 'The Violence of Action' on June 28th via Golden Robot Records. This single is a nod to the band's raw and dynamic origins, delivering an authentic live experience captured in a single take.
"The release of this track feels timely, and it's still one of my favourite songs, even after all these years," shares frontman Nick Gaffaney. "It takes me back to the early days of the band, when we were forcing equipment to do things in the looping world it was never designed to do and running with the inspiration wherever it took us."

'The Violence of Action' was originally conceived in the most unorthodox of settings – a storage unit in Christchurch, New Zealand. Surrounded by glow-in-the-dark carpet-covered concrete walls and enduring the biting Christchurch winter seeping through the garage door, Cairo Knife Fight found a unique creative sanctuary. "It was horrible but it was also somehow perfect for the moment. I can't say I miss those days but I'm certainly grateful for them," Gaffaney reflects.

This particular rendition of the song is a raw live performance, recorded at Kingsize Soundlabs in Los Angeles back in 2015. "George and I recorded and filmed three live performances in one day. One take... all live... raw and to the point," recalls Gaffaney, emphasizing the unfiltered and visceral nature of the recording.

Golden Robot Records is thrilled to bring this live version to old and new fans alike, encapsulating the raw energy and spontaneity that Cairo Knife Fight is renowned for. 'The Violence of Action' is a testament to the band's relentless pursuit of musical innovation and their journey from Christchurch storage units to Los Angeles studios.

Prepare to immerse yourself in the unbridled force of Cairo Knife Fight's' The Violence of Action', a release that promises to resonate with the grit and fervor of the band's early days.

Cairo Knife Fight is redefining what two musicians can create live, slaying audiences across the globe with their beautiful, yet raw and primal uniqueness. Formed in New Zealand, and now splitting their time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Cairo Knife Fight is:
Nick Gaffaney on lead vocals, drums and keyboard bass (all at the same damn time) and...
George Pajon Jr. (Grammy winning guitarist for some of the biggest names in the business: Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Carlos Santana, Macy Gray, John Legend, Nas and Sting, just to name a few) creating seemingly limitless guitar soundscapes and incendiary riffs.

The band’s incorporation of various loops and live treatments defies believability and pushes the limits of what two musicians can do on one stage.
