British Deathcore quintet Dead Flesh are set to appear at the 2024 edition of Bloodstock Open Air on Sunday August 11th!
The news comes off the back of the release of their new EP, “Dehumanise”, which was released on April 28th, 2024. Reviews for the EP were glowing with Metal Hammer calling it a “Bile filled, anti-establishment”, No Clean Singing referring to it as a “Blast furnace of fury”, and Scream Blast Repeat stating a “Human soup for a hateful God”.
The band also released two singles from the EP, 'Swallowing Nails' and 'Bodies Upon Bodies'.
Speaking about their inclusion at Bloodstock drummer Michael “Nelly” O’Neill said:
“We’re thrilled to be invited to play Bloodstock! We’d like to say a big thank you to the team for trusting us with this spot, to everyone who voted for us, and finally we’d like to give a big shout out to the awesome bands we had the pleasure of playing with on this journey.”
Speaking about the EP, vocalist Rich stated:
""Dehumanise" is a personal dive into misery, depression, and the state of the world in its current form. Dead Flesh bring five tracks of brutality that give a stark representation of personal struggle."
2024 has been a productive year for the band. Earlier this year they signed with US-based management company Extreme Management Group, who also work with such luminaries as Suffocation, Misery Index, Cryptopsy, and Atheist.
Speaking about their signing, Nelly further said:
“EMG know their stuff. They’ve worked with, and are working with, some of the best names in extreme music. To sit alongside them and learn from the team as we grow is amazing. We’re excited to see what comes next.”
Dead Flesh are a five-piece deathcore band from Hertfordshire. Formed in 2021, the quintet come from an experienced background of musical talent and the ambition to bring their unique deathcore sound, hellish lyrics, and breakneck energy to a wide audience across the UK.
They released their first self-titled single 'Dead Flesh' in 2022, after working with Justin Paul Hill (SikTh), and became finalists in Hitchin's Metal 2 the Masses, after less than a year of performing together. Going on to win the contest in 2024, securing their place at the festival.
