Bristol's Rock multi-instrumentalist Lucky Thief shares new single ‘Landlubber’ taken from upcoming debut album ‘D.I.Y.’

Following up on the March release of his debut single ‘Silencer’, comes ‘Landlubber’, the second single from Bristol-based rock multi-instrumentalist Lucky Thief released May 19th, taken from his upcoming debut album ‘D.I.Y’ due later this year.

Lucky Thief is the project name for multi-instrumentalist Ed Jefferson. Giving up piano at the age of 10, Ed never cared for music lessons; instead he taught himself every instrument you hear.  Lucky Thief’s music is reflective and relatable, drawing inspiration from his own experiences of mental illness, alcohol abuse, sex and his religious upbringing. Blending his unique way of playing with his raw, alluring vocals and confessional lyrics, Lucky Thief aims to draw you into his journey, and doesn’t let you go again until the finishing note.

Taken from his upcoming debut full-length ‘D.I.Y.’, Landlubber was recorded at Humm Studios with Dom Mitchison (The Manatees, Pet Shimmers, Heavy Lungs), mixed by Ky Witney (The Naturals) and mastered by Pete Maher (Pixies, Jack White, The Rolling Stones) and explores relationship insecurities and how people can change for all of the wrong reasons.

Discussing what inspired the single, Lucky Thief explains, “Landlubber looks at themes of paranoia, insecurity and regret in relationships, all of which I have experienced. In changing for the worst in a relationship, new behaviours come to light, even within yourself which you may never have expected.”

Three years in the making, Lucky Thief’s upcoming debut album ‘D.I.Y’ is due in the Summer of 2023. He spent the latter part of 2022 auditioning a full band to be able to take the album live throughout the UK in 2023.
