Following the release of their debut EP earlier this year, Bradford alternative rock trio Drella have announced the details of their next single, ‘Divide'.

The track is set to be released on Friday 5th May and can be pre-saved here.

Produced by Ady Hall and Lee McCarthy of Sugar House Music (Corella, VENUS GRRRLS, Viola Beach), ‘Divide’ is a punk protest song inspired by the economic struggles facing the bands’ hometown of Bradford. The song has been championed by local radio presenters and was recently named Track of the Week by Emily Pilbeam on BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire.

Drella will be promoting the single with a hometown headline show at Bradford’s 1 in 12 club, with previous shows being described as “energetic” and “carnage inducing” by Record Weekly. The show is in support of ACORN; a community union empowering ordinary people to fight for a better quality of life.

“Many people feel upset and angry at the economic deprivation they see everyday” explains frontman Jonathan Whyatt. “We’re really proud to have captured that anger in this song and be using it to raise money for a worthwhile cause”.

About Drella: Inspired by the economic struggles facing their hometown of Bradford, Drella is the project of friends Jonny, Toby and Alfie, who combine intricate and politicised lyrics with gritty guitar riffs to deliver their brand of alternative rock.
