BORDER.: new single "Workers" out now via Elastico Records

Subversive synth-punk/electro-industrial duo BORDER., formed by producer Demi More and singer Erika Spada, is back with an irreverent new single out today, May 3rd, via Elastico Records: it is entitled Workers and comes with a very specific statement: a sarcastic critique of the ruthless world of work, calling on everyone to save themselves from contemporary alienation.

In fact, their music is distinguished by addressing themes of social protest with a touch of sarcasm, against all forms of racism, injustice and inequality. An extreme and uncompromising electro sound and obsessive and alienating rhythms between The Prodigy, Siouxsie and The Cramps reverberate in Border.'s songs. Both have numerous experiences in the field of music and performance arts behind them: Demi has performed as an electronic music producer at several festivals, including Germany's Lollapalooza, while Erika is fresh from several collaborations as a playwright and actress.

The song is also accompanied by an official music video out soon.

BIOGRAPHY

BORDER., spelled just so, with the final dot indicating that there are no borders, in geography as in art. They have an extreme, uncompromising sound, obsessive rhythms that sum up the last 40 years of punk and industrial. A perfect synthesis of The Prodigy, Siouxsie and The Cramps and an effective antidote to contemporary mainstream music.

The duo was born in 2018 in Bologna, Italy from the encounter between producer Demi More and singer Erika Spada. Demi is an electronic music producer and was invited in 2012 to perform at Germany's Lollapalooza, while Erika is fresh from several collaborations ranging from music to theater.

In September 2020 they debuted with the EP WE DON'T EXIST, self-produced in synergy with Gianluca Lo Presti at Loto Studio in Ravenna. They also became known abroad with the single Double Rainbow, described by Backseat Mafia as «a message of hope and support for LGBTQIA+ rights and against all forms of racism, social injustice and inequality. A particularly apt teaching in this day and age».

In 2021 they got invited to the Linecheck Meeting Festival at BASE Milano, where they shared the stage with artists from the Italian and international alternative scene such as Ash Code, Buzz Kull, NNHMN, Diavol Strain, SDH, Fatamorgana and Camilla Sparksss.

NEVER TOO LATE is the latest EP released in October 2022 and signed under Elastico Records, a work in which social denunciation rumbles overbearingly, the same touch of sarcasm persists, and a darker wave vibe is in the air. It too is mixed and mastered by Gianluca Lo Presti.

In May 2023, the remix of their single Consent was released by Chris Shape and Miss Lucifer Dj., mixed and mastered by Maurizio “Icio” Baggio (F.O.H. live sound engineer of Boy Harsher). The track, signed under Berlin label Miseria Records, was published on double vinyl and cassette tapes for the compilation Body Work Vol 3. Consent Remix is a powerful dark-techno track with haunting and alienating beats that echo overbearingly, reminding us of the importance of consent.

The band was recently selected for the Emilia-Romagna regional finals of Sanremo Rock & Trend and will perform on July 15th, 2024 for Sanremo Trend - Summer Live at the Operà Beach Club in Riccione.

On May 3rd, 2024 they released for Elastico Records the new single Workers.
