Portuguese alternative metal trailblazers, Blame Zeus, are poised to unleash their highly anticipated 4th studio album, "LAUDANUM," set to hit the airwaves on October 4, 2023. With a rich and evolving history punctuated by dynamic lineup changes, Blame Zeus has evolved into a formidable ensemble, featuring the commanding presence of Sandra Oliveira on vocals, Paulo Silva and Tiago Lascasas on guitars, Bruno Branco on bass, and the rhythmic precision of Ricardo Silveira on drums.

Over the past decade, Blame Zeus has carved a distinctive path within the Portuguese rock and metal panorama, weaving intricate threads of blues and soul into their musical tapestry. This sonic journey has been underscored by the release of three critically acclaimed albums: "Identity" (2014), "Theory of Perception" (2017), and "Seethe" (2019). Their compelling live performances have earned them the respect and recognition of dedicated fans on revered stages such as Vagos Metal Fest, Laurus Nobilis, Milagre Metaleiro Open Air, and Gerês Rock Fest.

"LAUDANUM" marks a pivotal chapter in the band's creative odyssey, bearing witness to their unyielding commitment to artistic exploration. Every track on the album is a testament to collective artistry, with Sandra Oliveira's evocative lyrics and the enthralling guitar solos of Paulo Silva and Tiago Lascasas serving as melodic beacons. The album was co-produced in collaboration with Ricardo Fernandes and Blame Zeus. Vocals and drums found their voice at Dynamix Studio in Lisbon, while guitars and bass resonated from Paulo Silva's home studio. The meticulous mixing and mastering were entrusted to the skilled hands of Ricardo Fernandes at Dynamix Studio.

The album's captivating cover artwork, a visual masterpiece, was meticulously crafted by the talented Gustavo Sazes.

"LAUDANUM" embarks on a profound conceptual journey, delving into Sandra's deeply personal battle with depression and anxiety. The tracklist serves as a poignant narrative, mirroring the stages of her introspective expedition—from the haunting echoes of trauma and darkness to the turbulent beginnings of chemical treatment, culminating in a resolute phase of serenity and self-discovery.
