BLACKOUT PROBLEMShave released their brand new single‘STASH’, the latest song to be taken from their forthcoming albumRIOTout February 23rdvia Sony Music and available to pre-orderhere.

The single plays a special role in the upcoming album. ‘STASH’ was one of the first songs written forRIOTand forms the basis of the album."For me, the single was like a test to see how it works when I produce on my own,"explains songwriter, singer and producer Mario Radetzky. It is a test that undoubtedly provides a strong character in BLACKOUT PROBLEMS' first self-produced album.

Continuing about the album Mario says,"On RIOT, I tried to open up and find my way to myself as well as out of myself. When you listen to the album, you learn things about me that I would never tell you. But maybe you'll also learn something about yourself when you listen to it, because you're not hearing my story and my mistakes, but projecting them onto your own life."

The new single is a prime example for the mission the band aims to share; music consisting of dark lyrics and a resulting healing process. BLACKOUT PROBLEMS describes itself as a safe space that welcomes everyone and wants to offer a place of retreat through music. With ‘STASH’, this is exactly what is brought to life. The lyrics create a darkness, the message of the song seems like a dark room and a world that has lost all colour("All colours fade, when life is confusing and love is abusing").

‘STASH’ follows the release of previous singles‘FUNERAL’,‘PUZZLE’and‘GLOFS’(ft. Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari), which are all taken from the forthcoming albumRIOT. On the new album BLACKOUT PROBLEMS pair alternative rock with dark pop among a rollercoaster of emotions with a meaningful and socially critical message wrapped up in a soulful overall package.RIOTis a peaceful musical uprising.

Following their collaboration on ‘GLOFS’, BLACKOUT PROBLEMS will be joining Enter Shikari on their European tour in February 2024. Rou Reynolds has also hinted fans can expect to see them perform the single together live on this run,“I was honoured to have been asked to jump on this song by my friends BLACKOUT PROBLEMS. It’s such an excellently sculpted track and I can’t wait to perform it with them on our tour together in Europe.”

BLACKOUT PROBLEMS new albumRIOTwill be released on February 23rd, 2024, digitally, on CD, vinyl, in a special hardcover book and in various bundles via Hansa / SME Germany GmbH / Sony Music.
