BIG SPECIAL announce free hometown show in aid of homelessness fund Change Into Action

Free show, free Christmas trees and the launch of new single 'TREES'

BIG SPECIAL are today announcing a very special one-off live show at which they will be raising money for homelessness fund Change Into Action and launching new single ‘TREES’.

On 5th December the Black Country duo of Joe Hicklin (vocals) and Callum Moloney (drums) will be performing a very special free hometown show at The Fountain in Walsall, a pub venue known for its welcoming community-minded outlook and dedication to platforming emerging art in the area. Not only will the show be free, BIG SPECIAL have arranged for 75 six foot Fraser fir Christmas trees to be made available completely for free of charge too – or with a donation into an honesty box – no questions asked, for anyone in need. All proceeds with go to the midlands-based giving scheme Change Into Action which supports specialist charities and street teams working to change the circumstances of rough sleepers.

The Fountain’s own values align perfectly with those of BIG SPECIAL, who with recent singles have always looked to elevate working class voices and highlight the issues that blight small towns and rip communities apart. However, there is also a personal connection there too as singer Joe Hicklin explains:

“I used to work at The Fountain, it’s where I met our manager Steve whilst pulling him pints of cider. Scarlette, John and Jackie; the family that run the pub are the nicest people I’ve ever worked for, they have always did what they can for the community and people in need, as well as always providing a space for art and creativity in a place where that is quite rare. We are excited to be back playing the fountain and raising some money for local people in need.”
