JASON GOULD

RELEASES NEW SINGLE 'WORLD GONE CRAZY' - OUT NOW

TAKEN FROM UPCOMING NEW EP ‘SACRED DAYS’

OUT MARCH 22ND

Today, acclaimed US artist Jason Gould returns with his powerful new single, 'World Gone Crazy' - taken from his upcoming new EP – ‘Sacred Days’ - out March 22nd.

World Gone Crazy’ is one of the EP’s most impressive and important moments; flawless vocals over slow building beats giving the song an ethereal feel – showcasing Jason’s skills as a songwriter as he tries to make sense of the world’s suffering. Jason: “This is an expression of sadness, of anger, of desperation that so many of us have been feeling. And yet even in the devastation that human beings cause one another, if enough of us raise our collective voices and vote for leaders that actually care about children, decency and the future of our planet, maybe we can save ourselves from ourselves.”

Jason appeals to the body, mind, and soul in his music. He speaks intimate thoughts aloud through his lyrics, carries unbridled energy in the rhythms, and amplifies raw emotion straight from the heart. The New York-born singer, songwriter, performer, and creator is a consummate artist who has enraptured audiences on acclaimed records, on-screen in classic films, and on worldwide tours. Jason’s upcoming EP ‘Sacred Days’ now invites the closest connection yet.

“Music is the universal language of feeling,” he notes. “It affects your body right away. Then, it makes you think. A lot of love goes into creating, producing, and singing. It’s very vulnerable to make a song and put it out into the world. Creativity is in my nature though. It’s the most important element for my wellness and peace of mind. When a song happens, I can’t take credit for it. It comes through me, and I just apply my instincts.”

Jason started work on the new EP in 2023, collaborating with Allan Rich, Liz Vidal, Dorian Cheah, and Sébastien Izambard of Il Divo. Acting as “a conduit,” he channeled inspiration as it came to him. “I’ve realized that I like to create from a place of complete surrender,” he notes. “I don’t show up with an idea or agenda; I allow the concepts to flow through me. When I first started writing music, I was very insecure.  I’m finally trusting the process. I gave myself total freedom.”

Marking a change in direction sonically to anything Jason has released previously, the EP kicks off with a bang in lead single “Laws of Desire.” Here Jason’s emotionally charged delivery and icy verses give way to a propulsive dancefloor-ready beat punctuated by his sky-high falsetto. And don’t miss the futuristic video, out now.

“It came from this unconscious place,” he recalls. “I had the title ‘Laws of Desire’. There’s a sensual sexiness to it. Even though two people struggle in a relationship, they have an undeniable connection that can’t be broken. They push each other’s buttons, but this love exists between them.”

On second track “Run” a nimbly plucked guitar loop wraps around a head-nodding beat as Jason flexes his dynamic vocal range. “It’s about someone who gets away with things, doesn’t tell the truth, and causes chaos,” says Jason. “When you lie, there’s a consequence. There is karma to pay for it. In ‘Run’, I’m letting someone know I can’t trust them, so I have to run away for the sake of self-care.”  The EP closes with title track “Sacred Days” where Jason’s vocal careens atop a vibrant beat, reaching a cathartic climax on the chorus. “It’s almost like a fever dream,” he observes. “There’s something unstructured about it. I love how natural it is.”

Jason Gould embraced music during his childhood in Los Angeles. Among his earliest memories, he constantly spun 45’s of Dionne Warwick’s “I Say a Little Prayer” and The Fifth Dimension’s “Up, Up and Away” on a plastic record player. Around the same time, he took piano lessons, opting to craft melodies of his own rather than sight-read.

The world initially met and fell in love with Jason as an actor. He delivered standout performances in Say Anything, Listen to Me, The Big Picture, and The Prince of Tides. However, he formally pursued music in 2011. Immersing himself in recording, he unveiled the self-titled Jason Gould EP [2012] followed by his debut LP Dangerous Man [2017] and Dark Grey Skies EP [2021]. With widespread critical applause from the likes of People and more, Billboard proclaimed, “Gould is a crooner through and through,” and The Huffington Post christened him “an appealing, adult contemporary artist with a soothing, yet soaring sound. His powerful, mid-range voice can also send a note into a thrilling falsetto.” Not to mention, he duetted with his mum Barbra Streisand on “How Deep Is The Ocean” from the GRAMMY® Award-nominated platinum album Partners—which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.

Fast forward to 2024 and Jason is starting the new year as he means to go on, paving his own path with a distinct and dynamic sound of his own.

“I’m following my instincts,” he affirms. “I’m making the music I want to hear, and these songs are an expression of that. I’m a human being who’s trying to make sense of this crazy world, find love, remain purposeful, and be kind to myself and others. The music is my offering.”
