LISTEN TO ‘DID THE MORNING LET YOU DOWN’ HERE

Australia’s most laid back band Rum Jungle have just finished their first 14 date UK/EU tour. With their recent release "Did The Morning Let You Down" marking the first instalment of new music for 2024, this year is set to be an explosive time for the band.

On the back end of one of the biggest and most eventful years the band had seen, the four took their high spirits and bunkered down at Sonora Studios for a week; a holiday full of cheap barbecue lunches, scary cocktails and intense late nights to create an honest display of sonic melodies that reflect proudly the good spirits of the session. Thanks to the long days with engineer Jack Nigro, and even longer nights with Tasker, the world now has another reason to be excited about Rum Jungle, as they have released their latest single, showcasing the wonder and cohesion that the band embodies.

‘It is with a huge amount of gratitude that we present to you all, a song in which we had the most fun we have ever had whilst recording’ adds Frazer from the band.

Benny says about the track; ‘You’d be lying to yourself if there hasn’t been a morning in your life that you’ve not been stoked with the events of the night before or something’s weighing you down and that morning it hits you hard. Mistakes get made, shit goes wrong, everything’s tough for everyone in their own relative state. What this one is about though is pickin’ up and rollin’ on and understanding the world is the way it is, and finding that thing or person or reason to charge on with some sonic stability.’

Rum Jungles’ latest EP, Hold Me In The Water debuted at #3 on the ARIA Vinyl Album Charts and #12 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts back in November whilst their their lead single ‘Dash Of Speed’ landed in at #199 in the triple j hottest 200 of 2023.
