Asheville-based alt-rock outfit Caged Affair share “Grass Fed” EP
"Grass Fed" is the debut EP of Asheville-based alt-rock band Caged Affair. It is a raw and visceral musical journey that pays homage to the gritty sound of the 90's grunge era while infusing a fresh and contemporary energy. This EP encapsulates the band's signature style, characterized by powerful vocals, distorted guitar riffs and dynamic rhythms.
Each track on "Grass Fed" explores themes of introspection, rebellion against pop culture and the complexities of human emotion. The band's innovative approach results in a collection of songs that resonate with both nostalgia and a modern edge.
With the release of "Grass Fed", Caged Affair is looking to revive and redefine the grunge genre for a new generation of listeners.
Caged Affair is an alternative rock band based out of Asheville NC. Their neo-grunge punk hybrid sound has drawn parallels to bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana and Royal Blood.
Led by guitarist/vocalist Tyler Kemmerling, whose music has been heavily influenced by the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, My Bloody Valentine and Smashing Pumpkins, Caged Affair delivers music written with a sense of both despair and whit, a counterculture look at modern day society. “Falling into Madness,” a recently released single, vividly illustrates youths’ disillusionment with the fading American dream.
Since March 2023 Caged Affair has released four singles, including “Tell Me I’m Wrong”, which received regional radio airplay. Their new "Grass Fed" EP with five additional songs was released December 21, 2023.
Over the past six months, Caged Affair has played shows across the Southeast including an opening show for Big Wreck at The Underground (@theFillmore) in Charlotte NC. Plans are underway for shows in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast during 2024.
