Antonis Vlavo shares quirky new single ‘Transition’ (ft George Bandoek Apostolakis)

"Transition is the new track from the Greek artists Antonis Vlavo and George Bandoek Apostolakis. As they live far away from each other (Antonis in Greece, George in Finish Lapland) the have been working on this track remotely as Antonis have made all the music composition, arrangements and mixing and George added the main guitars the vocals and his voice. They finally recorded in Antonis' studio in Thessaloniki few weeks ago. The track has been mastered in Audio Animals studio in London."

Bio:

Antonis has been involved with Radio hosting and production, voiceovers, and audio for over 25 years. He grew up listening to the postpunk of the 80s, charmed by all electronic tunes. He loved the Britpop of the 90s and Shoegaze. At the same time, he worked as a writer in a famous TV show and is now an amateur landscape and sky photographer. He owns a high-end studio mostly for his VO work, but lately, he has recently started composing some music. He also drummed in various bands in his youth.

I enjoyed how eccentric ‘Transition’ is. Futuristic vocals remind me of David Bowie, while the powerful, slightly out-of-sync backing track draws a likeness to metalcore. At the same time, there’s an injection of arty indie rock too. The bizarre spoken moments add even more intrigue. It’s a track that doesn’t quite fit anywhere, but at the same time, it could fit everywhere. Ahead of its time but also firmly embedded in the past. The whirling guitars and pulsating drums bring a dynamic twist. It’s a fascinating, quirky listen!
