Ana Moura – the iconic Portuguese Fado artist – has shared a video for ‘Nossa Senhora Das Dores’ (‘Our Lady of Sorrows’), the closing song on Moura’s recently released and acclaimed seventh album, ‘Casa Guilhermina’. Recorded as a tribute to the Godmother of Fado, Maria da Fé, the track’s accompanying video was filmed in the Monserrate Palace near Sintra in Portugal and directed by Gonçalo Afonso. Watch the video HERE.

Moura has also been announced to open the show for Stromae when he plays Wembley Arena on May 4 – one of six Stromae shows she’ll be performing at across Europe. The live dates follow a sell-out headline show for Ana at Islington Assembly Hall in January of this year.

Named after Moura’s Grandmother, ‘Casa Guilhermina’ marks a departure for the singer, both musically and personally, informed in part by Moura wanting to acknowledge & celebrate her own bi-racial heritage, self-writing for the first time and collaborating with contemporary Portuguese producers. The results blur Fado tradition with a forward-facing mix of African genres including Semba, Morna & Kizomba, alongside Brazilian Samba and Chora. Collaborators include Buraka Som Sistema's Branko, Kuduro artist Pedro Da Lindha longstanding Prince guitarist Mike Scott. Watch videos for the album’s first singles ‘Agarra Em Mim’ and ‘Andorinhas’.

Since the release of her debut album, 2003’s Guarda-me A Vida Na Mão, Moura has become one of Portugal’s biggest stars, selling over 1 million records around the world. Her fifth album, 2012’s Desfado, which was produced by Grammy Award-winning Joni Mitchell collaborator, Larry Klein, became the best-selling record of the 2010s by a local act, while her follow-up, 2015’s Moura, became the 4th best-selling album of all time in Portugal. Along the way, she has picked up fans in The Rolling Stones, with whom she has performed with, and was a close friend with Prince, visiting the singer at the iconic Paisley Park numerous times before his untimely passing (Prince even wrote a song “Dream of Fire”, which appeared on Moura).
