MUSE is a heartfelt composition that showcases deCasa’s strong melodic and songwriting ability. MUSE portrays a woman's journey of infidelity, forgiveness, and emotional aftermath as her partner reconnects with a previous love interest for a night, encapsulating the woman's response to the situation. Written in the woman’s perspective, deCasa will complete the story with a follow-up song from the partners perspective titled INSTIGATOR, to be released in the coming weeks.

Describing his songwriting process, deCasa states:

“I love the process of writing songs like MUSE because I can fully remove myself from the story; it gives me complete freedom. Most times people assume that lyrics are about personal experiences with them being written in first person and that can sometimes pigeonhole you when writing. I just overthink the idea that people might associate certain stories with me and I tend to play it safe when writing. At the same time it gets really fun when recording because I fully immerse myself into this character I’ve created. I like to think that energy comes across in the recordings.”

Ricky Santiago-Cruz a.k.a deCasa is a Latinx artist from Puerto Rico now based in Austin, TX. His music is best described as Latin-infused Alternative with Hip-Hop undertones. deCasa has opened for acclaimed acts such as Mobley, Dreamgirl, Bright Light Social Hour, and Los Walters. With a promise of a frequent release schedule this year, deCasa is surely an artist to watch in 2024.
