Alex Maas (The Black Angels’ vocalist and multi-instrumentalist) released his debut solo album, Luca, in 2020.  After recently focusing on new Black Angels material, he returns with a solo recording that is inspired by the holiday season.

“I've never written a Christmas song. Christmas has a very dark side that not many people take into account. The holidays are as painful as they are beautiful for most people. This song is for people who fall in love during Christmas and for those who want to escape completely from the holiday." reveals Maas on the number.

Lyrics:

We were sitting by the fire keeping warm and cozy
Sipping cider singing songs, thinking of tomorrow
In the morning we will open gifts
Ones that we've been saying
I hope you like the ring I got, it reminds me of the mountains

Take me away
Take me away

We were in and out of snow
Chewing mistletoe
Working on our French accents
downing chocolate peppermints
In the evening we become the last ones to retire
Sounds like footsteps on the roof
my body’s feeling light lighter
Flying over counties dark
Take me to the coldest part

Bring me far away from here
It must be that time of year
So take me away, take me away
Just take me away take me away

In the morning, we open gifts
Ones that we’ve been craving
I hope you like this ring I got, it reminds me of the movies
Flying over countries dark
Take me to the coldest part

Bring me far away from here
It must be that time of year
To Take me away , take me away
Just take me away, take me away
