Adam Kenyon - “ We decided to approach "In Two Minds" with a soft, distant sound, gradually getting louder, like approaching something significant. We wanted to start this track with bold instrumentation, setting a mood that's both intense and groovy. The first verse explores the mindset of someone struggling with self-doubt and insecurity in a social setting, unsure of how to put themselves forward. The music is quieter here, reflecting their inner hesitation and tendency to stay in the background. As the verse progresses, so does their frustration about always playing it safe and missing opportunities. They encounter someone who immediately captivates them, sparking a mix of excitement and fear about taking a chance. The chorus delves into this inner conflict, capturing the tension between wanting to act and being held back by doubt. As the song builds, the tone becomes heavier, reflecting the person’s growing determination to break out of their shell. Yet, memories of past failures create moments of hesitation. The synth section mirrors the way they’re captivated by the possibility of a deeper connection.”
