ALBUM REVIEW: Dez Dare - Perseus War

"Perseus War" is the third album from Australian born, UK based artist Dez Dare. It follows last August's "Ulysses Trash"

Underproduced, noisy and confusing "Perseus War" is like a ranging brain that won't shut up as you try to sleep. Firing out colours and commotion making you feel like you want to get up and run for miles with no direction or purpose.

It's fuzzed up, mixed up with frantic, chaotic energy. Every track rages like an acid trip in the brightest technicolor imaginable.

Ranting, protesting vocals backed with erratic thundering drums, droning guitars and dysfunctional vibe. Nothing is organised, there's no structure, it's like Dez went in the studio and just improvised the whole thing. It's a great example of being outside the box. There post-punk, noise rock with occasional classic rock riffs.

"Perseus War" is a masterpiece of puzzlement, capitalising on the chaos of the world providing the soundtrack for a mind that can't sit still. Jumping around with disarray and mayhem.

My highlight is 'A Chimp, A Tricycle, New World Order' with its attitude heavy, slightly more structured alt rock sound back with distorted guitars and fuzzed up grunge undertones.

I'd be lying if I said I entirely got "Perseus War" but I think that's the point, it's a roller coaster ride on deconstructed soundscapes designed to leave you wondering WTF at its close. It's dirty, gritty, fuzzy, scuzzy and something a bit unique!

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (Iā€™m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜œ) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
