Praise for Æ Mak:

“Breaks the mould, extraordinary” - The Line of Best Fit

“Music that defies classification, songs that you can dance to with hooks galore” - NPR

With a headline tour set to start next week, Æ Mak aka Aoife McCann, has today released mixtape Berlin. From Ireland and a performer of art-pop music (think Sia, Grimes, Paul Simon energy with the limbs of a young David Byrne), she’s supported Tune Yards, Django Django, Warpaint, plus performed at some of the UK/Ireland’s biggest festivals, and been covered by the likes of Official Charts, DORK, The Line Of Best Fit, NPR, CLASH, Nialler9, and more.

To celebrate the mixtape, she shares ‘Baked Cheesecake’ as a single, which is about moving to Berlin with her best mate El. Here she says, “We moved in with our beaut mate Timothy and his gorgeous apartment, where we’d a month of heavy partying - heartbroken and lusting lying hungover on that big navy couch crying - eating baked cheesecake that Timothy made, lost and so sad but excited and exploring being giddy gremlins, making new connections with beautiful people, being queer.”

“This one’s for us, Ello, my elvin queeeen. Sent the track over to Kojaque to see if he wanted to do some production on it and mix it, bring it to where it needed to go. He did. Buzzed.”

Berlin is a collection of songs inspired by winter; harmonica, sexting, dancing, chest flames, clubs, self-destruction, rebirth and baked cheesecakes. It includes single ‘Shimmer Boy’. Additional production and mixes by some of her favourite producers - ATRIP, Kojaque and David Noonan (Just Mustard).

Æ Mak tours Ireland and the UK starting next week, and tickets are on-sale now HERE. She'll be supported by Fears.
